Jasmine- Young, Spunky. Late teens. She is a lesbian, and a journalist, she documents everything about their situation, in a little worn notebook she hides under her thin mattress.

Jacob- Bisexual. Late 20’s. The clown of the facility. Refuses to back down. Truly believes that the entire staff is crazy, and that many of the patients are as well, also believes he’s one of the saner ones.

Helen- Mid to late 30’s.The ‘mother’ of her area, takes Jasmine and Jamie under her wing, cares for everyone else as well. Lesbian. Lost her son when he was only 2 1/2 years old. never been the same, escaped into her books, pretends to be the characters from the books to make herself feel better.

Jamie (formerly James)- Straight. MTF Transgender, Naive, early 20’s. Has a 1 year old son who is with Hank, she hasn’t seen him since she was put in the facility. Was a slightly absentee mother. Is hurt and confused after what Hank did. 

Hank- Straight. Outside of the facility. Turned Jamie in. Takes care of their son, Jared.

Carl- Gay. An author, Married to Connor. Early 30’s Had a hard history, lost his parents when he was 10, then moved into foster care. He was shipped around from place to place until he turned 18, got a full time job. Eventually saved enough to send himself to college night classes, that was where he met Connor.

Connor- Gay. Carl’s Husband, had a decent homelife. Never really had to come out to his parents. Lost his mother at 19, his father at 21. Two years older then Carl.

Alice- Lesbian. 24-25. Had a happy life, fully accepted by friends and family. Short, brown hair, grey eyes. Very in love with Blair. 

Blair- Bisexual. Accepted by all of family, took her father a while to ‘come to terms with it’. Loves Alice, a college student, going through for architecture. Long curly dark hair, a bit shorter then Alice.
